Jimmy Davidson, Owner

My name is Jimmy Davidson and I am the owner of Bandido Solutions. I am originally from a small town in Texas called, Socorro, where the foundation of my love for being a craftsman began. Growing up, I spent time helping maintain our rental properties at a very young age. I was very fortunate to be able to go to a vocational school for various construction trades and project management for several years. This allowed me to grow my passion into a career. My skills have grown significantly throughout the opportunities I’ve sought. I have learned to leverage technology for my customers and further support my love for design. 

Emy Johnson, Designer

Emy is a Designer at Bandido Solutions with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Interior Design. She originally joined the Bandido team as an intern while completing her degree and transitioned into a permanent role in March 2025. Having grown up around the construction industry through her dad’s work, she developed an early understanding of how homes are built, which now helps her balance her creativity with the practical side of design. Her favorite part of the job is seeing an initial design and 3D rendering transform into a finished space that a client can enjoy in their home. Outside of work, Emy loves staying creative through baking and painting, whether on a canvas or a mural. She also enjoys camping, spending time with her family and two cats, and serving others through various ministries at her church.

Accessory Building vs. ADU: Two Different Projects

An accessory building is a garage, workshop, or storage structure with no kitchen or living plumbing. An ADU is a small detached home with its own kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping space. The two get built, permitted, and priced differently. Knowing which one you want saves you a lot of confusion.

Here's where people get tangled up. Someone calls us wanting a detached garage, but they keep saying they might rent it out someday. That single sentence changes everything. A workshop with a slab, some outlets, and a roll-up door is one kind of remodel. A structure with a bedroom, a bathroom, and a stove is a different animal entirely, legally and structurally.

Lakewood has a lot of older lots with detached garages already sitting on them, some from decades back and never updated. Folks often want to replace one of those with something bigger for a workshop or storage. That's a straightforward accessory building remodel. Once you add plumbing for a kitchen or a shower meant for someone to live there full time, you've crossed into ADU territory. That means separate systems, separate inspections, and a longer permitting path.
